Privacy Policy

Eulogy Expert is operated by Archelaus LLC, doing business as Eulogy Expert. This page describes what we collect, why, who processes it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

What you give us

To write a eulogy we ask about the person who died: their name, your relationship, their life, the stories and sayings you remember, and, if you choose, their religion and how religious they were. Some of it is about you; most of it is about someone else. This is sensitive information and we treat it that way.

• Your name, email address, and questionnaire answers.
• The preview and the eulogies we write from your answers.
• A payment record from Stripe, including the email and billing details you enter at checkout. We never see or store your card details.
• Your browser type and IP address when you start checkout, used to connect your payment to your order.

How we use it

• To write your preview and your eulogies, and to email them to you.
• To take payment, give refunds, and answer your messages.
• To send discount reminders, only if you confirm by email that you want them. Every reminder has an unsubscribe link.
• To keep the service running and secure, and to fix errors.

We do not sell your information. We do not use your answers or eulogies to train models.

Who processes it

• JotForm: hosts the questionnaire and receives your answers.
• Xano: our database and server, where your answers, preview, and eulogies are stored.
• OpenAI and Anthropic: write your preview and eulogies. Your answers are sent to them as part of each request, only to write your own eulogies.
• Stripe: payment processing.
• Postmark: sends your eulogies and our emails.
• Sentry: receives error reports from our server so we can find and fix problems. A report can include your account ID and technical details of the error.
• Webflow: hosts this website.
• Google: our site loads Google Tag Manager, which may set cookies for site analytics and advertising measurement. Google does not receive your answers or your eulogies.
• Global Privacy Control: when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, our site does not load Google Tag Manager, so no analytics or advertising tags run on that visit. We do not send your information to advertising platforms from our servers.

How long we keep it

We keep your answers and eulogies so we can resend them if you lose the email and support your purchase. You can ask us to delete them at any time (see below). We keep payment records longer, because tax and accounting rules require it; those records do not contain your eulogies.

Your choices

• Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct it.
• Ask us to delete your answers and eulogies. We will do it, and it cannot be undone.
• Stop our reminder emails with the unsubscribe link, or by writing to us.

Email info@eulogyexpert.com and a person will handle it. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Children

Eulogy Expert is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

If there is a breach

If a breach affects your private information and you live in New York, we will notify you as New York General Business Law § 899-aa (the SHIELD Act) requires — in the most expedient time possible and without unreasonable delay, and no later than 30 days after the breach is discovered, unless a law-enforcement agency determines that notice would impede a criminal investigation. Wherever you live, we will also notify you as other state and federal breach-notification law requires.

Changes

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted here with a new date.
